Pillow Care Tips: Keep Your Pillows Fresh, Fluffy and Comfortable

Your pillows are there for you every night, so giving them a little extra care can help them stay soft, supportive and comfortable for much longer.

Whether it is your favourite sleeping pillow or your much-loved body pillow, these simple care tips will help keep them feeling their best.

Fluff Them Daily

A quick fluff every morning can make a big difference. Fluffing helps keep the filling evenly spread, prevents flat spots and keeps your pillows looking full and feeling comfortable.

For body pillows, gently shake and reshape them along the length to help keep their shape.

Wash Covers Often

Pillowcases and covers should be washed regularly to keep them clean and fresh.

Our cotton covers are easy to remove and machine washable, making them simple to care for. As a guide, try to wash your covers every one to two weeks, especially if they are used every day.

Wash With Care

Our faux down pillows and body pillows are machine washable, but it is important to wash them gently.

Here are a few simple tips:

  • Use a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals
  • Wash two pillows together if possible to keep the machine balanced
  • Make sure there is enough space in the machine for the pillows to move freely

Let Them Air Dry

Making sure your pillows are fully dry is one of the most important parts of caring for them.

After washing:

  • Gently squeeze out excess water
  • Reshape your pillow while it is still damp
  • Lay flat or hang in a well-ventilated area to air dry naturally
  • Fluff your pillow throughout the drying process to help keep the filling evenly spread
  • Make sure it is completely dry before using it again

Our body pillows may take a little longer to dry because of their size, so it is worth giving them some extra time. Avoid tumble drying, as high heat can damage the filling and affect the shape of your pillow.

Know When It Is Time for a New Pillow

Even the cosiest pillows need replacing eventually. Over time, pillows can lose their shape, softness and support.

As a general guide:

  • Standard pillows should be replaced every 1 to 2 years
  • Body pillows can last around 2 years with the right care
  • Pillow covers can last longer but should be replaced once they become worn, faded or no longer fit properly

If your pillow feels flat, lumpy or no longer gives you the comfort and support you love, it might be time for a fresh new one.

A little care goes a long way. By following these simple tips, you can keep your pillows feeling fresher, fuller and more comfortable for longer.
